Here are some of our amazing authors from Issue 2 and what they’ve accomplished since being published by Tabula Rasa Review! We’ve included links to their socials, websites, publications, and more.

Andrena Zawinski

Author of “The Pickers” from Issue 2

Andrena Zawinski is an award winning activist poet with accolades for free verse, lyricism, form, and social concern whose work appears widely in print, online, and in over fifty anthologies. A veteran teacher of writing, she has authored four full-length poetry collections and some smaller editions, edited two anthologies, and released a debut book of flash fiction. Born and raised landlocked in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, she has made her home at water’s edge on a city island in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Recent publications include 3rd Wednesdays, Santa Fe Review, North Dakota Review, along with anthologies Women in a Golden State (California Women at 60 and Beyond), Keystone Poets Anthology (Contemporary Poets on Pennsylvania), and Light on the Walls of Life (Tribute Anthology to Lawrence Ferlinghetti). Her book of poetry What Remains New & Selected Poems 1995-2025 is forthcoming.

Eric Weintraub

Author of “Four Dollars More” from Issue 2

Eric Z. Weintraub is the author of the debut novel South of Sepharad, which was named a 2024 INDIE Book of the Year by Foreword Reviews. He lives in Los Angeles. When not writing fiction, Eric profiles true stories of complex medical cases where he works at the Keck School of Medicine of USC.

Jonathan Fletcher

Author of “Before Redbox and Netflix” from Issue 2

Jonathan Fletcher holds a Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing from Columbia University School of the Arts.  His work has been featured in numerous literary journals and magazines, and he has won or placed in various literary contests. A Pushcart Prize, Best of the Net, and Best Microfiction nominee, he won Northwestern University Press’s Drinking Gourd Chapbook Poetry Prize contest in 2023, for which his debut chapbook, This is My Body, was published in 2025.  Currently, he serves as a Zoeglossia Fellow and lives in San Antonio, Texas.

Ken Pobo

Author of “Unpack” from Issue 2

Kenneth Pobo (he/him) is the author of twenty-one chapbooks and nine full-length collections.  Recent books include Bend of Quiet (Blue Light Press), Loplop in a Red City (Circling Rivers), and most recently, At The Window, Silence (Fernwood Press). Raylene And Skip is forthcoming from Wolfson Press. His work has appeared in Asheville Poetry Review, North Dakota Quarterly, Amsterdam Quarterly, Nimrod, Mudfish, Hawaii Review, and elsewhere. 

Lillian Fuglei

Author of “Thrifting” from Issue 2

Lillian Fuglei (they/she) is a lesbian poetess based in Denver, Colorado. She began writing poetry in high school, after a lifetime of attending open mics thanks to their mother. They bounce between poetry, journalism, and academia, hoping to find a home for her writing somewhere in between the three. Their debut chapbook, Girlhood Scrapbook, is available now with Stain’d Arts. 

Nick Young

Author of “Boomerang” from Issue 2

Nick Young is a retired award-winning CBS News Correspondent.  His writing has appeared in dozens of reviews, journals and anthologies. His first novel, “Deadline”, was published in 2023. He lives outside Chicago.

Philip Wexler

Author of “With Winter’s Approach” from Issue 2

Philip Wexler lives in Bethesda, Maryland. Over 230 of his poems have appeared in magazines.  His poetry books include The Sad Parade (Adelaide Books), The Burning Moustache (Adelaide Books), The Lesser Light (Finishing Line Press), With Something Like Hope (Silver Bow Publishing), I Would be the Purple (Kelsay Books) and Bozo’s Obstacle (In Case of Emergency Press). He also organizes and emcees Words out Loud, a monthly spoken word series.

Savannah Cooper

Author of “Old-Fashioned Tent Revival” and “Considering Cigarettes” from Issue 2

Savannah Cooper (she/her) is a Pushcart Prize nominated poet, self-taught photographer, and bisexual mess. Her work has been previously published in more than 40 journals, including Midwestern Gothic, Mud Season Review, and Parentheses Journal. She holds a BA in English with an emphasis in Creative Writing from Lincoln University of Missouri and currently resides in Western Maryland. Her debut poetry collection, Mother Viper, is out August 12 from Unsolicited Press.

Toti O’Brien

Author of “Threshold” from Issue 2

Toti O’Brien is the Italian Accordionist with the Irish Last Name. Born in Rome, living in Los Angeles, she is an artist, musician and dancer. She is the author of four collections of poetry and three of prose. Her most recent short story collection, Alter Alter, was released by Elyssar Press in 2024. Past publications include The Past Ineffable (Cholla Needles Arts & Literary Library) and Odd Arcana (Cholla Needles Arts & Literary Library). She was nominated for Best of Net for “Heroin” by GAS Poetry.
